Rescues and excavator, both at Allentown hoarder fire.

In Allentown, Pennsylvania firefighters responded to a house fire in the 600 block of Allen Street. Neighbors had rescued three people from the house prior to the fire department’s arrival. Once on the scene firefighters had difficulty making entry due to hoarding conditions.

While firefighters continued to darken down the fire and make entry, the first floor collapsed into the basement. WFMZ reported that the amount of hoarded material in the basement limited to first floor collapse to only six inches.

NewsWorking, which has a detailed incident report in the video below, states that a second alarm was transmitted due to the fire in the basement. As the incident progressed a foam engine was special called to the scene as well. In the end, a excavator was used to remove the front wall of the fire building.
